Professions and Business Study

8 October 2014

The ACA is delighted to be the first architecture industry association to participate in the Professions and Business Study.

The ACA joins associations in the broader built environment fields – including the Planning Institute of Australia, Consult Australia and Engineers Australia – along with those representing the wider professions, in participating in this annual survey into business and the professions in Australia. The study is conducted annually by Beaton Research + Consulting.

The function and value of the survey is two-fold.

The first section of the survey sent to ACA members will enquire into the ACA and its performance as an industry association. This is valuable for the ACA in understanding how we are performing for members – it will be particularly useful in light of the big developments we have undertaken over the past two years (including the development of this website).

The second section asks respondents about their experiences of the professional services firms that support our industry. This is important for understanding how the world of professional services, of which architecture is part – is performing. This is a significant industry-wide benchmarking opportunity that will help us understand what changes are underway, how we might navigate them and how other professionals perceive architectural practices. As well as finding out more about how architecture is faring, it will be help locate architectural practice in relation to other professions.

All ACA members will be contacted about the survey in November and we encourage you all to participate.
