Streamlining the Tender Process

11 August 2015

Join ACA – Qld/NT for a lunchtime presentation by Damien Stokes and John Wheeler from Stokes Wheeler about ensuring your tender processes are efficient and effective.

Documents are an important part of the process that converts design concepts into practical, buildable reality. Tender documents, in particular, are the drawings that represent the contract between the builder and the client and are used by builders and subcontractors to accurately price and eventually construct the results of the architects’ design efforts.

Damien Stokes and John Wheeler from Stokes Wheeler will present their views on relevant and suitable documentation as well as processes that are required to ensure a streamlined tender process and to ultimately ensure the architects creative concepts become reality. A streamlined and well planned tender process is the first step in ensuring that all players in a project team can be confident that the work documented can be delivered on time and on budget.

Key issues to be discussed include:

  • The tender process
  • How documents are issued
  • Sufficient time to tender and finalise prices
  • Incomplete or insufficient documents
  • Documentation clashes or ambiguity
  • Tender submission requirements
  • Addenda

Following the presentation, Robert Wesener will join Damien and John and comment based in his experience developing better documentation processes at Fulton Trotter Architects.
