These Guidelines are intended as as reference for consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and others involved in the construction industry, and to inform and assist clients/owners/users who intend undertaking construction projects.

The guide document addresses the following issues:

• It provides basic information on different systems, processes and procedures that are available for project procurement,
• It identifies advantages and disadvantages of various options,
• It recommends preferred procedures to achieve the best results,
• It provides fair and equitable arangements and outcomes for parties who are involved in the construction process,
• In respect to the work of consultants, the intention of the document is to maintain and improve the quality of project design documentation
